Our Journey of Faith!
Welcome to Faith Church Sunshine Coast, formerly known as Mooloolaba Christian Church.
Our transition to Faith Church was set in motion when the Uniting Church Presbytery of Mary Burnett dissolved our congregation on March 18, 2023. This decision stemmed from our unwavering commitment to biblical truth, particularly our opposition to the 15th Assembly’s resolution on July 13, 2018, which introduced religious and ethical diversity—effectively making the UCA a multifaith denomination. Additionally, our firm stance against the adoption of same-gender marriage, which we believed conflicted with the clear teachings of Scripture and the UCA's Basis of Union, played a significant role in this outcome.
Recognizing the challenges ahead, we took proactive steps to ensure our congregation’s continuity, drawing wisdom from the experience of the former ACC Sunnybank UCA congregation, which had been dissolved for similar reasons on March 28, 2022. In preparation, we established Faith Church (Sunshine Coast) Limited, allowing us to continue functioning as a congregation. As a result, we seamlessly resumed worship on March 19, 2023.
Our official inauguration as Faith Church took place on June 17, 2023, when we were welcomed as a member church of the Diocese of the Southern Cross, under the oversight of Bishop Glenn Davies. Notably, eight former UCA ministers also joined this journey, receiving formal recognition and licensing as Presbyters—Ministers of the Word and Sacraments—within the Diocese.
On July 2, 2023, we moved into our new worship space at Mt. Creek State School Hall (51 Lady Musgrove Dr, Mt. Creek Q4557), where we continue to gather in faith and fellowship.
Standing Firm in Truth
Our commitment to the unchanging truth of God's Word remains unwavering. We trust entirely in His provision and rely on His strength for all that lies ahead.
Amid a Western culture increasingly resistant to the Gospel, we remain steadfast in our mission—to proclaim the Truth that brings salvation. As the Apostle Paul declares:
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).
We invite you to join us in this journey of faith!
